- Home Assistant Matter setups need a controller path and Matter Server enabled.
- Add or select a Thread Border Router before pairing.
- Pair through Home Assistant using a Matter Controller.
- For Home Assistant, verify Matter Server, IPv6, mDNS, and controller availability.
- Test basic control first, then build automations.
- Confirm the Thread device is within range of a Thread Border Router.
- Confirm the target ecosystem has a Matter Controller commissioned and online.
- In Home Assistant, confirm the Matter integration and Matter Server add-on are running before pairing.
- Avoid factory resetting repeatedly. First confirm controller, border router, app, and network requirements.
- If the device works in a vendor app but not the target ecosystem, check whether the feature is exposed through Matter or only through the vendor integration.
