About

About SmartHomeCompat

SmartHomeCompat helps smart home users understand how to connect devices, what hub or controller is missing, which features may not work, and how to start practical Home Assistant automations.

The site focuses on Matter, Thread, Home Assistant, Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, Aqara, and selected professional protocols over time. The goal is to turn fragmented compatibility information into a clear connection plan.

We do not hands-on test every device. We map official compatibility data, hub requirements, Matter and Thread behavior, Home Assistant integrations, and real-world setup issues into practical guidance.

The product roadmap prioritizes real setup problems from Home Assistant Community, search queries, GitHub issues, and user feedback.

How we build trust

  • We map official compatibility data, certification records, public integrations, and known setup issues.
  • We do not hands-on test every device, and we label guidance as rule-based when it is not verified by our own testing.
  • We focus on what users need after a yes/no answer: missing hubs, connection paths, unavailable features, alternatives, and automation options.
  • We prioritize devices and fixes based on search demand, Home Assistant community problems, user feedback, and recurring setup failures.
