Plan a Home Assistant health report that finds real problems without noisy alerts

Choose your device count, protocols, failure pattern, notification style, and maintenance output. The planner separates low battery, unavailable, unknown, stale, cloud, Zigbee, and Matter/Thread issues.

Noise risks
  • No exclude list; reports may be noisy.
  • No last_seen visibility; stale and sleepy devices may be hard to separate.
  • Cloud integrations can create grouped outages that look like device failures.
  • Matter / Thread devices need separate checks for border routers, fabrics, and mDNS/IPv6.
  • Zigbee devices need mesh checks before replacing sensors.
Maintenance checklist
  1. Group issues by protocol before assuming every unavailable device has the same cause.
  2. Add last_seen or last_changed checks where integrations expose them.
  3. Create an exclude list for hidden, disabled, seasonal, and intentionally offline entities.
  4. Send a daily or weekly digest instead of one alert per device.
  5. Turn unresolved issues into a maintenance todo list or installer-ready report.
